About the West Of England Steam Engine Society Rally

Beyond the mist in the vast green fields of Cornwall, West England lies they eye catching innovations of the steam generation. From the pioneering vintage steam cars to the revolutionary steam haulage carts, the West of England Steam Engine Society Rally has it all!

Every year the West of England Steam Engine Society Rally blows it out of the water with fun for all the family. Take a ride in some of the old vintage cars before they never exist again! Or take in some of the live theatrical shows throughout the venue. The overwhelming choice of activities will blow the steam out of your ears!

What’s it all about? It’s more than just a celebration of the finest steam engines and innovations to ever exist, it’s an experience. One that might not be around for much longer. Every year, WESES celebrates the inventions that helped shape the modern world. If you’re looking for a sense of discovery, there is no better place than the West of England Steam Engine Society Rally.

Who organises all of this? Did I mention The West of England Steam Engine Society Rally? Oh, I did? Well, that’s who organises it! The society has brought joy to many since 1955 and will continue to do so in the many years to come. Their main objective is to preserve the last of the great steam innovations of the bygone era.

Entry To The Rally

Gates open for everyone from 9am with the amusements kicking off at 10am. In which case, there is no need to rush. However, it’s always best to skip those ques - If you preorder your tickets now you’ll get 20% off over those bought on the day. Perhaps you’re not a fan of preordering, not to worry. The tickets are usually £10 for adults and £8 pounds for the little ones.

Somewhere to Stay in Cornwall

Looking for a place to stay? Well, you’ve got a couple of options. In fact, the rally is just that fun they even offer the opportunity to camp their overnight! Of course, this might even work out to be a better deal if you buy the camping ticket as opposed to staying in accommodation nearby! Make sure to check it out. However, if you’re looking for a little more class, make sure to check out St Michaels Resort, Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth which is about a 16 minute drive from the rally. It’s the nicest hotel around.

Getting To Stithians Showground

How do I get there? Typically by car, the fastest route is by taking the A393 and following the road off at Tubbon Hill. The rally will be just up the road on the right.

Other Things To Do Around Truro

What else is there to do in the area? There is an abundance of things to see and do around the area. Make sure to check out the National Trust Trelissick Gardens or if you’re an animal lover make sure to visit the The Flicka Foundation.

How hard is it to put the gate prices up on the web like you have with buy on line . Trouble with that is you can't predict the weather on those days .If the show was cancelled would you return monies owed ? . I think this would be areal headache for all of you . Lets hope you will consider my point of view and make it to all that maybe thinking the same as me .
