About the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally
If you really want to get a sense of how far we’ve come with technology, then you will need to venture out to the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally. Every summer, all walks of life gather in the fields of Lincolnshire Showgrounds to celebrate the finest engineering of the past and commemorate the most elegant engineering of the time.
You will not want to miss a day filled with history, laughs, amusements, and music. Since 1985, steam enthusiasts to vintage car advocates have come to showcase, explain, and display how these beautiful machines were built into existence.
However, the day is more than just blowing off some steam (metaphorically and physically), it’s a great day to spend with the entire family and friends. Furthermore, it’s a day to give back to those who have less than us. Every year, the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally have raised thousands for various charities, and that’s all thanks to those who come and participate.
Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally Ltd
Initially, the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally came into existence when director, Glyn MacDonald, hosted the event for 250 exhibits. Throughout the years the rally has grown substantially in size and required the help of more professional members and thus became the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally you know today.
Entry To The Rally
Access to the venue is usually around 9am. Tickets start at £10 for adults. Children under 16 go free! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for early bird tickets! You will not want to miss out, I mean, who doesn’t love a discount?
Somewhere to Stay in Lincolnshire
Furthermore, you also have the option to camp on the day if you plan on coming in a caravan. However, if you’re a little more traditional, there are various hotels around the area. One of which I highly recommend; The Kings Head Hotel.
Getting To Lincolnshire Show Ground
You shouldn’t have any trouble accessing the venue, it’s about 4 miles north of the A15 with sign postings guiding you to the site location. All entrances are located A1500 Tollbridge Lane. If you’re confused by this just key in the postcode LN2 2NA into the Google maps and it should take you straight there.
Other Things To Do Around Lincoln
If you’re looking for other things to do around the area, make sure to check out Lincoln Cathedral, RAF Scampton Heritage Centre and the collection. All of which are located very close to the rally.
Now go get your tickets! You’ll be steaming mad to miss this day!
