About the Model Railways Plus and Sunday Bus Event

As the summer begins to wane each year in early August, Tinkers Park in East Sussex hosts the Model Railways Plus and Sunday Bus Event. Visitors of all ages will be thrilled by rides on the narrow-gauge railway and visits through the vast collection of model trains on demonstration.

The yearly model train exposition and narrow-gauge railway festival features rides from traction engines, music in the Organ Museum, and a 'special' bus event on Sunday that adds the 'plus' in the name of the show. There will be amusement rides to challenge the young at heart. A wide selection of antique and classic equipment, trains, and automobiles will be on display.

The show also presents a delicious spread of foods and drinks, including The Shepherd’s Rest ale hut, and many foods to choose from. Or bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a rest in the shade as the heat of the day grows. Trade show stands will offer model sets for enthusiasts and beginners alike.

Tinkers Park

Tinkers Park sponsors and hosts the event each year. Tinkers Park is home to The Claude Jessett Trust, a registered charity, committed to the preservation of the regional history of farming and construction equipment, techniques, and mechanical musical instruments

Entry To The Event

Ride a classic bus to the event for free from many area transportation hubs. Entry to the event is £7 for adults, £2 for children. Ample free parking is available at Tinker Park for those who choose to drive to the event. Bring your well-behaved dogs on a lead, but not into the organ museum. The grounds of Tinkers Park are uneven in places, so good shoes are recommended. Disabled access is available to most of the event, rides excluded.
