The Brickworks Museum
The last steam-driven Victorian brickworks in the UK. Get close to the massive brick making machines and see how the men used to run 15 miles a day in the big drying sheds. At the heart of the museum is the collection which includes the original brick making machinery, steam engine and related smaller equipment, such as barrows, shovels and wagons, once used at Bursledon Brickworks. The steam engine and machinery are operated on special events. Also on site are a narrow gauge and miniature railways and there are often traction engines in steam.
